Straight staircases
One flight, no turns. The rail is cut to length and fixed to the stair treads rather than the wall, so the strength of your plaster is never a factor.
A stairlift should give you your whole house back, not just get you up the stairs. We fit straight and curved stairlifts across Derby and Derbyshire, to buy or to rent, and we look after them afterwards.

One flight, no turns. The rail is cut to length and fixed to the stair treads rather than the wall, so the strength of your plaster is never a factor.

Stairs that turn a corner or pause at a half-landing. A single rail is made to follow the shape of your particular staircase, so accurate measurements matter.
Every lift we fit, straight or curved, can be bought or rented. Which works out better usually comes down to how long it is likely to be needed.
| Question | Buying | Renting |
|---|---|---|
| Who owns the lift | You do. It is yours once it is paid for. | We do. You have the use of it for as long as you need it. |
| Usually suits | A need that is likely to be permanent. | A shorter or uncertain need, such as recovery after an operation. |
| How long you are committed | It is a one-off purchase, so there is nothing ongoing to commit to. | No minimum contract. You keep it only while it is needed. |
| Servicing | We service it for you, arranged at a time that suits. | Servicing and maintenance are looked after while you rent. |
| If something goes wrong | Warranty cover is included, with the terms set out in your quotation. | Repairs during the rental are our responsibility. |
| When it is no longer needed | It stays with you. Ask us if you would like it removed. | We collect it and take it away. |
Ask us. We will talk both through honestly, with no pressure either way, and confirm the costs in writing after your free home survey.
Office hours Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Appointments outside these hours can be arranged.
Four steps, in order, from your first call to the years afterwards.
Installation time varies by staircase and configuration, so we agree realistic timings with you rather than promising a fixed figure.
We ask about your staircase and who will be using the lift. If a stairlift is not the right answer, we will say so.
We visit at a time that suits you, measure the stairs and explain what your staircase allows. No obligation.
A plain-English quotation covering the components, the installation and what is included. Take as long as you need over it.
Our installer fits the lift and shows you how to use it, then we are here for servicing and repairs afterwards.
Something not covered here? Ask us. We are happy to talk it through.
It depends on the shape of your staircase. A straight flight with no turns, bends or intermediate landings can usually take a straight rail.
If your stairs turn a corner, have a half-landing, or narrow at any point, a curved rail is normally needed so that it follows the shape of the stairs. We confirm which suits your home during the free survey.
The rail is fixed to the stair treads using brackets, so it is supported by the staircase itself rather than by the wall. The carriage and seat then travel along that rail.
Nothing is fitted until you have accepted a written quotation.
Costs vary by staircase, configuration and installation requirements, so we do not publish a single price. A straight rail on a simple flight involves fewer components than a curved rail that has to follow turns and landings.
After the free home survey you receive a fixed, written quotation. There is no charge for the survey or the quotation.
Yes. We supply straight and curved stairlifts to buy outright or to rent, and our rental service has no minimum contract, which can suit someone recovering from an operation or illness.
Servicing and maintenance are looked after during the rental period, and we remove the lift when it is no longer needed.
Often, yes. Our engineers carry out routine servicing, battery changes and repair call-outs on lifts we installed and on many fitted by others.
The one limitation is parts: a few components are manufacturer-supply only, so occasionally a part has to be ordered in. Telephone us with the details and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Stop using the stairlift and telephone us with the details. Please do not attempt to dismantle, adjust or repair any part of the lift yourself.
It helps if you can tell us where the lift stopped, whether any beeps or lights appeared, and whether anything is resting on the rail or footrest.
Tell us a little about your staircase and we will arrange a free home survey at a time that suits you. Friendly advice, and no pressure to proceed.
